Don't Forget To Remember

I was looking for something but came across this sheet of paper with scriptures that I had printed back on October 2nd of 2005. I could not believe how long ago it was when I saw the date.  I looked for my journal for that period of time, but I must have been in between journals and was sad to realize this is all I had.
As I read it I started to remember how this word came to life for me and began to pray the scriptures again.

I wrote;

October 2, 2005

I had a dream that I was declaring a scripture in prayer over a specific situation in our lives at the moment. I remember saying “God will restore all that the enemy has taken away according to His word” in the dream. But I did not know this scripture too well at the time or where it was in the Bible.

When I woke up the next morning, I did not remember this dream immediately but during my quiet time in the morning, in my daily devotional for October 2nd, I read;

God Rebuilds

God’s purpose in pouring His holiness toward us through His Son and by His Spirit, is to save us-

To restore all that has been eaten away by the locusts of sin;

To refill all that has been eroded by the streams of unrighteousness;

To rebuild all that has been broken down by the destructiveness of hell’s operations;

To recover all that has been decayed by the works of the flesh.

Joel 2:25 So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.

The end.

Whenever I read or hear scriptures more than once in a short amount of time, I know God is talking to me and He has my attention.

So, I remembered the dream as I read the word on the devotional for that day and knew the Lord was pursuing me to believe Him and hold on to this word for us. I prayed it for a long time and it is forever written in my heart but as time went on, I did not pray it as often.

I believe that He does not want us to forget His promises, no matter how long it takes. Those words that speak right into our specific situations. Those words that are written in our journals.  Those places where we have believed Him.  He does not forget them.

It’s as if He’s saying, “Don’t forget to remember”.

Isaiah 55:10-11
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it

Prayer
Thank You Lord for pursuing us with Your promises filled with love and hope and pouring Your holiness toward us through Your Son and by Your Spirit. We can trust You to restore all that has been eaten away by the locusts of sin, refill all that has been eroded by the streams of unrighteousness, rebuild all that has been broken down by the destructiveness of hell’s operations and recover all that has been decayed by the works of the flesh, in and through Your Son Jesus.  Amen! So be it!
